I Will Pursue Holiness

1 Peter 1:13-23
13 Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming. 14 As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. 15 But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; 16 for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”[a]
17 Since you call on a Father who judges each person’s work impartially, live out your time as foreigners here in reverent fear. 18 For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. 20 He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. 21 Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God.
22 Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for each other, love one another deeply, from the heart.[b] 23 For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.

As children of God, I am called to be holy. because God is holy. Holiness is to not confirm evil desire that I had. God purify our hearts by obeying the truth, bible truth so I can love one another deeply from heart.

1 Peter 4:1-5
Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because whoever suffers in the body is done with sin. 2 As a result, they do not live the rest of their earthly lives for evil human desires, but rather for the will of God. 3 For you have spent enough time in the past doing what pagans choose to do—living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, carousing and detestable idolatry. 4 They are surprised that you do not join them in their reckless, wild living, and they heap abuse on you. 5 But they will have to give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.

People will be really surprise by not joining most people live. It is indeed really true when I become disciple, most of my friends who close with me start to be far away. Though I am indeed kinda sad, but I know that I can’t join their lifestyle anymore. Because while I am living on earth, I should give account to God.

Acts 19:18-19
18 Many of those who believed now came and openly confessed what they had done. 19 A number who had practiced sorcery brought their scrolls together and burned them publicly. When they calculated the value of the scrolls, the total came to fifty thousand drachmas.[c] 20 In this way the word of the Lord spread widely and grew in power.

Many of people who believe come and openly confessed what they had done, as they even burn the sorcery scrolls in public to demonstrate they want to be living in Christ. When I was in sin study. I format all my pirated softwares, movies, and my porn to be thrown away.

Psalms 119:9-16
9 How can a young person stay on the path of purity?
    By living according to your word.
10 I seek you with all my heart;
    do not let me stray from your commands.
11 I have hidden your word in my heart
    that I might not sin against you.
12 Praise be to you, Lord;
    teach me your decrees.
13 With my lips I recount
    all the laws that come from your mouth.
14 I rejoice in following your statutes
    as one rejoices in great riches.
15 I meditate on your precepts
    and consider your ways.
16 I delight in your decrees;
    I will not neglect your word.

To be pure is to hidden God’s word in my heart, and God will teach his decrees and let me rejoice in great riches in Him.

Today’s take away:
Ask my discipler to correct me if I had worldly attitude.
Be receptive towards their critiques and thank them for their desire to help become more like Jesus
Continue memorizing and meditating.
